Applications Sulphonated Oil SS Sulfonated oils are anionic surfactants, a yellow to reddish brown liquid that is soluble in water. They have properties like wetting, emulsifying dispersing as well as lubrication. Sulfonated oils SS are a new type sulfonated lubricating material made from natural vegetable oil using sulfur trioxide membrane sulfonation. It can either be fatliquored on its own or combined with other fatliquors. It gives the leather a soft feel and is compatible with many other fatliquors. Sulfonated SS oil has a high permeability. After fat is added, leather becomes soft, plump and oily. It won't migrate through the fibers of leather, and it will not produce an oily cream or oil spots. It has good stability and emulsification, and it can improve the fatliquoring of fatliquors which have poor stability or emulsification. Its compatibility with other fatliquoring material has made it a popular new type of oil for production of medium- and high grade fatliquors by leather chemical plants. Sulfonated Oil is used widely in the textile, leather, paper and metal processing industries. It is also used for agricultural preparations as an emulsifier.
