Strong alkali solution will eat glass. Glass bottles containing strong solutions to alkali should not be stopped with frosted glasses. Glass stoppers (glass contains sio2) can be used. Sticky sodium silicate is made to bond the stopper to your bottle. Glass bottles should not be stored in concentrated alkali for too long.
