Review :

The Mix Tape Vol. 3 was subtitled The Final Chapter. And that’s what it should have been. But DJ/hip-hop opportunist Funkmaster Flex has once again rounded up the usual suspects for 26 cuts of his all too familiar mix tape flair. The LOX’s Jadakiss continues his endless campaign for a solo career with the synthed-out "I Don’t Care." M.O.P. go uncomfortably commercial with their remix of the underground hit "Ante Up," which features king of hip-hop crossover Busta Rhymes and newcomer Remy Martin. Faith Evans and Ginuwine add new and somewhat interesting R&B flavor, and Eminem and the D-12 impress as always on the bass-heavy "Words Are Weapons." Nature’s "The Needle" is also a gem. But the rest is just costume jewelry—Flex Protégés Inc. and artists who come off like they’re just doing it for the exposure. Without Flex’s filler and ad-libs, the true funk here would probably add up to only 20 minutes.
