Xzibit new movie, "Derailed"

Rapper and actor Xzibit is one of the stars of the new movie, Derailed, which hits theaters on November 11th. The thriller also stars Jennifer Aniston, Clive Owen, and RZA. The project is Xzibit’s third screen role, as he had supporting roles in XXX : State of The Union and 8 Mile.
The star of MTV’s Pimp My Ride recently broke down the difference between being a successful rapper and a successful television star. He said : "Having success as a musician, I mean that’s the bread and butter. That’s the catalyst of everything because it’s a direct tap into people’s psyche and direct tap into what people are listening to. It has a large effect because people move to the rhythm and people listen to the music constantly."

Xzibit added : "But when you are on television, it’s like different because you become more personable with the people. They feel like they can reach out and touch you. You’re in their living rooms, you know what I’m sayin, every night, you know what I’m sayin’ ? It’s just more visibility in television. It’s more gratification in music for me."

Xzibit is currently working on a new album which he will release on his own label. The rapper has severed ties with Sony Records.
