Wyclef Jean Speaks on Fugee Non-Reunion :
"Lauryn is straight up the problem !"

Wyclef Jean recently went public with the reason behind the Fugees failed reunion attempt. During an interview with Scratch magazine, Jean accused Lauryn Hill of attempting to take production credit for music she did not produce. He said, "It’s real simple, if you did the beats, where are the beats, show us one beat that you did. If you bring Clef to the studio, put an MP, put an SP, put a bunch of stuff, bring a bunch of cameras (and) say, ’Clef, do a beat in two minutes.’The beat’s done. Bring Lauryn Hill in the studio with the same camera, say we give you three hours. Matter fact, f**k it, we’ll give you a month do a beat. She can’t put it together !"

Jean added that the issue came to head while he and producer Jerry Wonder were working on a remix for John Legend. He said, "We did a remix (with) Lauryn for John Legend, for the record ’So High.’John Legend was saying our names. You know what she had (him) do ? She was like, ’Take off Wyclef and Jerry’s names.’Because she wanted people to think that she was the one doing the beat. I’m a producer and I’m a beatmaker with my cousin Jerry Wonder, and I’m a writer. She’s a writer, a vocalist, (and) a great (vocal) composer. And she’s great at picking out samples, she got 20 billion samples but can’t chop ’em up to save her life."

honestly, the fugees were as succesful as they were because of Lauryn. Not that Wyclef isn’t very talented. Just that she is what made the group stand out from anything else because of her limitless talents

if he was a real friend, he wouldn’t be proving her correct when she said "I was on the humble, you on every station. Tarnished my image in ya conversation". Clef has always been a show boat, boasting himself in public to make himself look good. He ows Lauryn an apology for whatever happened between them. Til this day, he STILL can’t speak on it - just ask him and he’ll change the subject !

he is not hating on lauryn, that chick needs help and she needs to get it together. Just because she made wondeful music doesnt mean she isnt imperfect and that her shit dont stink. I am glad he came out and spoke his mind, someone needed to and for the record...SHE DID not make clef ; clef helped to cultivate HER as an artist as well as many MANY other artist he has worked with. ANd he is consistant. Where is she ? Painting her face like a clown and saying its God like. God don’t operate in confusion, and people need to stop kissing her ass like she is high and mighty. she is human too.

I think wyclef is just mad that lauryn won’t do the reunion. Lauryn made him well-known, he knows that it will not be a success with out her. He did not have to say all those mean things about her. If she infact persuaded John Legend to take off thier names, then he should take that up with her and John legally, not by trying to humiliate her.
