Pras says there will be no fugees reunion

The Fugees have been allegedly working on a comeback album for over two years but according to group member Pras, the chances of the project ever seeing the light of day are slim. Pras told SOHH.com, "Straight dead. You know, unfortunately Miss Hill, she got some things she needs to deal with. I wish her the best, but life goes on."

Pras was a little more optimistic when the group reunited in 2005 for the BET Awards at the time, the rapper said : "With fame and fortune, there’s a lot of things that come with ego, fear of success, you know, ’cause I mean, 20 million albums sold — three kids from Jersey, we never expected that, you know ? Then egos got real big. But everything happens for a reason, you know ? So we’re here now, I think people have been waiting, they need something different and that’s what we brought the first time. So we’re gonna see if we can do it again. "

Even group member Wyclef Jean has remained optimistic over the years. He said : "It’s not like any Fugee member said, ’I denounce myself from this group. I no longer want to be part of this group.’Then I’d be like, we’re not doing another Fugee record. Like any group, we went through our fights, our trials, our tribulations and stuff, but I think with this group it’s a little different. Usually other groups break up and people will go like, ’Yo, let’s watch the death of this one, the death of that one.’"

The Fugees released a single, "Take It Easy," in 2005.

Jean recently went public with the fact that he’s considering putting together a new Fugees with Akon and an unnamed female entertainer.

In related news, Pras is working on an untitled album which he will release through Sony BMG later this year. The rapper is also working on several film projects. He said, "You know I’m doing movies hard, man. I’m doing a bunch of different movies. Actually I gotta shoot a movie after I finish my album with my man Josh Lucas, Tim Roth, doing another movie with Warren Beatty. So we’re just making it happen, man."
