Anthony "Geezy" Gonzalez faces an 82-count indictment for drug trafficking
Anthony "Geezy" Gonzalez has been the manager for The Clipse until 2006. He turned himself into police in Miami on Tuesday after being accused of being part of a $10 million drug ring and now faces an face an 82-count indictment.
According to the website HamptonRoads the alleged drug ring has distributed more than a ton of marijuana and more than 100 pounds of cocaine since 2003. The suspects obtained drugs mostly from Panama, Arizona, California and Florida, and either flew them here or drove them with cars containing hidden compartments, the indictment says.
Federal authorities have recorded conversations and say that in one transaction, Gonzalez is accused of purchasing 625 pounds of marijuana for $540,000 in May 2007 from a supplier in Arizona. In another, he’s accused of buying 10 kilos of cocaine for $200,000.
The six-year drug operation was based at Encore Lounge. The indictment says Gonzalez bought the club at 1889 Virginia Beach Blvd. in November 2007 from an unidentified co-conspirator for 40 pounds of marijuana and about $80,000 in drug proceeds.
That club has been closed earlier this year after more than 100 incidents of violence, shootings, drug dealing and disorderly conduct, according to the report.
Gonzalez has also been accused of laundering proceeds through various businesses, including Soul Providers Management, Soul Providers Entertainment, D&A Trucking and the nightclub. Soul Providers Management is listed as the booking agent for Clipse on Clipse’s MySpace Web page.
The Clipse brothers Pusha T and Malice are known by their fans for talking about moving white in their lyrics but this is a whole other story if this happened to be real.
For now, The Clipse have been in the studio recording their new album Till The Casket Drops. The first single Kinda Like A Big Deal off the album features Kanye West.
Their upcoming second single Back By Popular Demand is a collabo with Camron.
Stay tuned as this story keeps developing.
