The Big Bang
Busta Rhymes’ heavily-anticipated album, The Big Bang, is not in stores yet, but its sheer buzz just became momentous. That’s because Busta confirmed to New York City’s Hot 97 radio host, Angie Martinez, that not only did he get the legendary Dr. Dre to produce for the The Big Bang, but he also got him out the lab and into the booth, spitting some bars alongside him.
“He (Dr. Dre) sounds incredibly crazy. He went in,” a keyed-up Busta told Martinez, about Dre’s guest appearance on “Imagine,” a track off The Big Bang album. “The dope thing about it is the concept.
“(The concept is) what would we be doing if hip hop didn’t exist? Would Russell (Simmons) be a hustler selling nickel and dimes? Would Lyor (Cohen) be selling newspapers?”
Busta’s, The Big Bang will also feature production from the likes of Swizz Beatz and Sha Money XL with guest appearances from an eclectic mix of past and present artists, including Stevie Wonder, Missy Elliot, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and even Rick James. Busta’s current single, “I Love My Bi*ch,” featuring Kelis and Will.I.Am, is gaining radio spins across the country. The Big Bang is scheduled to hit stores on June 6.
