| TI and Wife Arrested on Drug Charges |
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, Jr., and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were arrested on Wednesday night in Los Angeles and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, according to a post on MTV News. The couple was driving their Maybach on Sunset Blvd when they were stopped by police for making an illegal U-turn.
Police reportedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle, which prompted a search that yielded several pills. On Friday, the Los Angeles County Sherrif’s Department, through its spokesperson Nicole Nishida, confirmed that the pills tested positive for Ecstasy after lab tests. Ecstasy is classified as a Schedule 1 narcotic.
Nishida also said that officers did not report finding marijuana during the search.
T.I. and Tiny were released later on $10,000 bail.
