TI sentenced to one year on gun charges.

T.I. was sentenced to a year and a day behind bars on Friday for various federal weapons charges.

T.I., real name Clifford Harris, plead guilty to the charges last March following his arrest in 2007 when he attempted to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers prior to his appearance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.

The judge ruled that Harris must report to prison in the next 30-60 days and having already served 1,000 hours of community service he will have to complete an additional 470 days community service upon his release.

"Today I would like to say thank you to some, and apologize to all," Harris told U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. "Everything I learned was through trial and error. I’ve learned lessons in my life to put in my music so people won’t make the same mistakes as I."

Harris was facing up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine per count before he plead guilty and made a deal in March that will see him spend 366 days behind bars. Upon his release he will be placed on three years of supervised release. Having already spend 305 days under house arrest the rapper must also spend an additional 60 days of home detention.
