T.I. RELEASED TO HALFWAY HOUSE

T.I. has been transferred to a halfway house in Georgia, two weeks after his prison term initially came to an end.

The hip-hop star, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was given an early release from an Arkansas incarceration facility on 31 August (11) after serving 10 months of an 11-month sentence for a probation violation, but he was placed back behind bars after lawmakers discovered he had illegally conducted business onboard a luxury bus on his way to the halfway house in his home state, where he was due to spend the final days of his punishment.

The officials accused T.I. of discussing business matters with his manager and two producers from TV network VH1 - allegations he has denied. His lawyer Steve Sadow attempted to have the decision to re-incarcerate his client overturned, but he was refused the opportunity to appeal the ruling. The Live Your Life hitmaker was released from custody on Thursday (15Sep11) and his attorney is taking credit for the result.

He tells TMZ.com, "We have good reason to believe that this favourable result was reached because of the proactive and assertive approach taken to protect T.I.’s rights by providing B.O.P. (Bureau of Prisons) officials and the media with reliable and accurate information and that T.I. did not intend to violate his transfer furlough or any other B.O.P. rules en route from the prison facility in Arkansas to the halfway house in Atlanta." T.I. will be placed on probation for one year after his release from the halfway house on 29 September (11).
