Issue 12 (Ludacris & Busta Rhymes)

Smack DVD Magazine - Issue 12 (Ludacris & Busta Rhymes) - featuring Busta, Jim Jones, Papoose, Shea Davis, Ludacris, Slim Thum, DJ Drama & more...

Review :
The kingpin of the street DVD game in 2005, S.M.A.C.K. was relatively quiet in the underground during 2006, instead focusing his time on S.M.A.C.K. - The Album, vol. 1, a KOCH distributed project that included a CD and DVD featuring Jeezy, Redman, DMX, Bun B and others. Pushing enough units to line his pockets with enough bread for ’06, S.M.A.C.K. is back in the streets to serve the people with the 12th edition of their heavyweight DVD magazine.

The S.M.A.C.K. quarterly DVD magazine considers itself "the street bible of the hip-hop world." With exclusive
interviews, concert footage, freestyles and exclusive LIVE battles included in every edition. S.M.A.C.K. has built
itself a huge following since its debut in 2002, since then holding down the streets as the top DVD around. With
another round of Streets Music Arts Culture and Knowledge, S.M.A.C.K. is kicking 2007 off in a major way.

This edition features more than 2 hours of brand new footage, including features with Ludacris & Busta Rhymes, plus
appearances from Jadakiss, Papoose, Slim Thug, Jim Jones & Freaky Zeekey, Young Dro & T.I., DJ Drama & Mike Jones, DMX, Maino, Lil’ Flip, Lil’ Eazy E, Prodigy, Lil’ Scrappy, Kiotti and more. This DVD also features 2 exclusive live battles
and footage of the Sean Bell protests in NYC.

"50 Bullets" About Sean Bell’s Death Follows Papoose’ "50 Shots"

I wrote "50 Bullets" a day after the shooting because I believe the death/murder of Sean Bell is a tragedy of "shakespearean proportions," for like Romeo and Juliet this young couple got caught up in society’s contentions. Meanwhile, there have been 5 or 6 more preventable police shootings since this happened. These types of actions by the "authorities" breed hopelessness and a sense of desperation that just creates more crime and institutes the cycle of poverty we see. I also believe that we all have to unite against hate. If he were alive today, Shakespeare himself would have probably remembered that it was at the wedding celebration where Christ performed his first feat. Well, how ironic is this ? For a miracle is what we need now if we’re going to get any justice and heal all the pain caused by this shooting. How do we prevent this from happening agian ? Herein lies the real crime : "complacency." Some say it’s a "crime" and some say it’s a "tragedy. " Visit my page Myspace.com/Yardmon50, check out my song and tell me what do you think.
