SNOOP DOGG’S FOOTBALL LEAGUE IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE

Snoop has been accused of letting his football league for youngsters fall into financial difficulty after one of his teams was banned from playing over an allegedly unpaid bill.

The hip-hop star helped set up the Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL) several years ago to encourage underprivileged kids to take up the sport. However, parents of the Pilson Jets players in the Chicago branch of the organisation were left fuming on Sunday (06Nov11) when their kids were banned from taking part in a playoff game.

The veto came over allegations a $22,000 (£14,667) bill for the team’s equipment had been left unpaid, and the players were reportedly told if they turned up to the game, they would be stripped of their uniforms, according to Myfoxchicago.com.

Parent Betty Arias tells the website, "I don’t think it’s fair, but I think it’s more humiliating for them to show up there and (be) asked to take off the equipment, asked to take off your uniform right after the game." Disappointed player Ulyses Lopez adds, "Snoop, I thought he was going to do a better job at supporting these games and stuff." Snoop Dogg had yet to comment on the allegations as WENN went to press.
