Rita J. officially steps into the hip-hop circle with her debut LP, Artist Workshop (ANI Recordings). After numerous cameo appearances on other ANI projects, Rita J. utilizes her first album as a chance to prove she also deserves the spotlight garnered by other female MCs.

Along with showcasing her own skills on the microphone, Rita J. employs the talents of Black Spade (Om Records), Guilty Simpson (Stonesthrow), Cap D (ANI Recordings) and Rashid Hadee (Soulspazm) to add to Artist Workshop’s already polished sound. Standout tracks on Artist Workshop include the upbeat "No Regrets" produced by K-Kruz, "Listen" featuring Black Spade, the introspective cut "The Address." Rita J. displays an edgier side on "Outlasted" which features Guilty Simpson and a less traditional side with the uniquely catchy "Inconspicuous."

Artist Workshop shows Rita J. cleverly walking the fine line of representing the strong successful woman without regressing to play the role of harlot or diva. It is without a doubt Rita J’s Artist Workshop will leave true hip-hop listeners wanting to hear more from the awe-inspiring female MC. One listen just won’t be enough.
