Prodigy hospitalized, temporarily avoids jail again
For the second time in six weeks, the start of Prodigy’s prison term has been delayed, this time due to complications from sickle cell anemia.
Prodigy was taken to Montefiore Hospital in The Bronx yesterday, the same day he was supposed to turn himself in to start his three-and-a-half year prison term for gun possession offenses.
According to his lawyer Irving Cohen, P is currently suffering from severe lung pain and could also require a hip replacement.
The 33 year-old Mobb Deep member has been given a week extension on starting his prison term, and is now scheduled to begin on February 20th. Prodigy had recently been given a 30-day extension so his medical records could be gathered.
