Pras documentary & Fugees Reunion

Former Fugees star Pras Michel spent nine days on the streets of Los Angeles without any money as part of a new movie documentary about the plight of the homeless. The rapper hit the streets of Los Angeles as a homeless man for nine days last year and shot a documentary titled, Skid Row, which opens in New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, on August 24th.

Pras told Billboard.com, "I went in with the notion that it’d be easy, but then you get there and you realize it’s a whole other world and that ignorance is bliss. Most people think homeless people are on drugs or lazy, but that is far from the truth. I left with a completely different mindset on the situation."

Pras shared that one of the homeless people with whom he developed a relationship died recently. He said, "I just got a call last week. One of the guys that used to be a heroin addict and helped us, he died of an overdose."

In related news, Pras discussed why the Fugees weren’t able to pull off a reunion. He said, "We went in the studio and recorded a couple records that were incredible. But, to put it nicely, it’s dead. Me and WyClef, we on the same page, but Lauryn (Hill) is in her zone, and I’m fed up with that s**t. Here she is, blessed with a gift, with the opportunity to rock and give and she’s running on some bulls**t ? I’m a fan of Lauryn’s but I can’t respect that."

Pras will release a new solo album, Experience, later this year. The first single from the project is "Pop Life."

The rapper will also launch his non-profit organization, Prasperity Projects, next month.
