biography:
Olivia Longe professionally known as Olivia, is an R&B singer and rapper
of mixed Jamaican, Indian, and Cuban ethnicity. She first started singing in
church choirs and also learned to play the guitar and piano. In 1999, she became
the first artist signed to Clive Davis’ J Records. Her self-titled debut album
was released in 2001 and featured the singles "Bizounce" and "R
U Capable" (featuring Eve). The explicit album was later shelved, and she
was dropped from J Records.
In 2005, Olivia
re-emerged as the first lady of G-Unit. She has contributed vocals to their
debut album Beg For Mercy and to 50 Cent’s The Massacre, including that album’s
#1 single "Candy Shop". Her next album, Behind Closed Doors, is slated
for a 2005 release on Interscope and G-Unit Records.
The first single
released from the album was "Twist It", featuring fellow G-Unit member
Lloyd Banks. The video for "Twist it" was directed by 50 Cent. Olivia
currently attends Hofstra University in New York. She also plans on coming out
with a lingerie line soon.
In spring 2007, Olivia was dropped from G-Unit which was confirmed by 50 Cent himself during an April 4, 2007 interview with Miss Jones on Hot 97. 50 Cent also confirmed this with an interview with BBC 1Xtra DJ Semtex.
