Release Date: TBA, 2009
review:
Her Name Is Nicole is the first solo album by American pop/R&B singer Nicole
Scherzinger, lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls. Originally slated to be released
in 2007, the album was put on hold because her first two singles failed to chart
in the United States.
The album will feature production from Akon, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Macy Gray, Ne-Yo, Pharrell, Polow da Don, Sean Garrett, Timbaland, will.i.am and Kuya among others The-Dream, who wrote Rihanna’s "Umbrella" and J. Holiday’s "Bed", worked with Scherzinger on "Power’s Out" which features Sting and will appear on the album. Scherzinger had stated in an interview that she had written over 80 songs for Her Name Is Nicole.
Initially stated for a 2007 release, the release date has been changed several times. After being scheduled for October 16, 2007, the date was pushed back to November 6, 2007, then November 20, 2007 due to the potential release of Jay-Z’s and Chris Brown’s albums. Scherzinger is reported to have re-recorded some of the songs.
