Mobb Deep has lost the deal with their label Jive. Prodigy wasn’t surprised because he said "Jive is a good label but they’re R&B. They sell millions of records with Britney Spears and R. Kelly ".

Mobb Deep only released one album from their two year deal, which was "America’s Nightmare" and featured the club smash "Got it Twisted", but the album is yet to break the 500,000 sales mark. Despite the low sales, Mobb Deep are still considered to be among the best in the game by fans and record executives. Prodigy and Havoc have been in meetings with some big names in the industry over a new deal.

Both Havoc and Prodigy are well on the way with their solo projects, Havoc is working on a currently untitled album while Prodigy is working on H.N.I.C. 2. They say they are always recording new Mobb Deep and could release an album today if they could. Once signed to a new label, they plan to release a new album later this year.

Mobb Deep have recently released the track "Cobra Clutch" to quash any rumours of their breakup.
