Hip Hop Albums Charts

It’s been hard out there for rappers but RnB Stars Mary J Blige and Alicia Keys still manage to move records in this end of the year 2007.

Debuting this week in the charts Mary J. Blige takes the #2 spot this week with her album entitled Growing Pains and follows Alicia’s footsteps with 629,000 units sold.

Ms Alicia Keys new effort As I Am is still #3 after 6 weeks on the charts . This week, she has a huge 62% sales increase and sell 474,000 additional units. She has sold an overall impressive 2,350,000 units while after 15 weeks Kanye West has sold 1,848,500 copies of Graduation and 50 Cent moved "only" 1,201,833 units of Curtis.

Jaheim debuts at #11 as he moved 176,000 units of his new effort The Makings of a Man while Lupe Fiasco new effort The Cool sells a nice 143,000 units this week (#15 on the charts).

Chingy also debuts this week but only manage to move 31,450 units copies of his new album released by Def Jam/DTP entitled Hate It or Love It.

The Face Off between Bow Wow and Omarion has 83,473 new fans this week (190,619 total sold). Chris Brown new album Exclusive will be platinum next week as it sold 176,205 units for this week (964,576 total). American Gangster keeps the register ringing with 58K sold for a total of 842,059 sold making Jay-Z close to his 10th platinum album.

Soulja Boy is still doing it big with his album as he sold 91,179 units this week (608,851 total).
