After allegedly slapping a 14 year old kid for wearing a Czar Entertainment t-shirt (Game’s management company), G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo has raised a lot of comments within the Hip Hop Community.
Al Sharpton, the Hip Hop Summit Action Network’s Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis, and other community and religious leaders are planning a march to protest the alleged actions of Tony Yayo.
This march is a call to action and public grievance and the rally is planned for Monday as a response to the artist’s alleged slapping on the son of hip hop rival Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond, head of Czar Entertainment.
We are involved to try to help mediate this problem, says Dr. Chavis, President/CEO of HSAN. In truth, every child in our community is precious. The theme of the Hip-Hop Summit is taking back responsibility.
With artistic freedom comes responsibility. Therefore anytime a child in our community is harmed it is of great concern to us. We are hoping and praying that this matter can be resolved peacefully and resolutely. At the end of the day the interest of our children will be better served.
It has been previously reported that 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and several associates were leaving Violator Management and saw the boy walking down the street dressed in a Czar Entertainment T-shirt. They reportedly had no idea that the teen was Rosemond’s son.
The men then allegedly pushed the youth against the wall, asking him why he was wearing the shirt and how old he was. After he answered "14 years old", Yayo allegedly backhanded the boy, saying "I don’t give a fuck how old this kid is, fuck Czar Entertainment."
Marvin "Tony Yayo" Bernard has been charged with harrassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
The G-Unit member was reportedly taken to a precinct in downtown Manhattan along with his associates to be identified by the teen.
50 Cent’s lawyer has since claimed that he was not present during the alleged assault and that they can prove Fifty was not even in NY State.
"We are conducting our own investigation to determine exactly what happened," said 50’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman. "One thing I can say with absolute certainty, however, is that at the time of the alleged incident, 50 Cent was not in New York State."
