Lil Wayne enters the Billboard 200 at n°2 with 176 000 copies sold of his rock influenced album Rebirth. This is a real success for a project that has faced both delays and an early leak.
For Weezy who’s about to start his jail time in a month, this is a good sign for his next album Tha Carter IV as it shows that he has been able to maintain a strong fan base even if this new album is shaping a brand new sound in hip hop.
Rebirth is Wayne’s seventh top 10 album. Tha Carter III was the best selling album of the year with over 1 million units sold during the first week.
