Cash Money Records Superstar Lil’ Wayne was arrested this morning on October 6 in Boise, Idaho after a concert at Boise’s Qwest Arena.

Police then booked the rapper into the Ada County Jailfor being a Fugitive in the state of Idaho because of an arrest warrant issued in Fulton County Georgia.

Indee, in August of 2006, Wayne was arrested in Atlanta on drug possession charges and released on a $10,000 bond. But after failing to appear at an all-purpose hearing in the case in August of this year he was declared a fugitive. This past Wednesday, October 3rd, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

William Head, who is Wayne’s new lawyer in the case, says that his client has been touring since March, and suggests that any notices demanding that he appear in court and offer an additional $10,000 bond went to Wayne’s New Orleans home, and therefore went unanswered. “There’s no way you would know to be in court,” Head explains. “In fact, he had a co-defendant who called me himself and said, ‘My case was dismissed. We thought his was too.’”

His lawyer was able to procure Lil Wayne a release from the Ada County, Idaho jail - where Wayne spent his Saturday - after filing an emergency release order. Fulton County, Georgia judge Craig Schwall appears to have agreed with Head’s argument that his client was not aware of the court proceedings and due to the apparent misunderstanding he should be freed.

He’s now free on a $20,000 bond. He is due back in the Fulton County court Tuesday for his arraignment on the charges from 2006.

Lil Wayne was also recently arrested after his first performance in New York in July 2007, after police allegedly witnessed him smoking marijuana and found a .40-caliber pistol after searching the tour bus.

Weezy will now spend most of his week in Atlanta, as he attends court on Tuesday and BET’s Hip Hop Awards on Saturday.
