Birdmand goes after Jay-Z’s Hottest MC Status

Cash Money Records co-founder Baby aka Birdman said he doesn’t think Jay-Z deserves the top spot as the Hottest In The Game emcee anymore and said Lil Wayne should have secured the #1 spot instead.

In an interview with Tropical TV he said : "I don’t think he a number one emcee in no kinda way," Wayne the best he do the most and he makes the most money. I dont think no n*gga in the business make more money than us. How could you be the best if you don’t make the best money, the most money and you don’t do the most. Lyrically, come on man be for real man can’t nobody f*ck with Wayne. And to me, if you number one and you aint getting no money it don’t mean nothing. Who’s making the most money. That’s number one to me. F*ck all that rap sh*t. Sh*t, y’all got cold rappers you never even heard and then you got n*ggas who really can’t rap and making money. It’s about who’s making the most money to me. I don’t give a f*ck about the rest of that sh*t."

In related news, 50 Cent has pushed back the release of Before I Self Destruct in order to compete with Birdman new album Pricele$$ on November 24.

I disagree with Birdman. He clearly contradicts himself in his interview. First, he claims that lyrically noone can f*%k with Lil Wayne, then he says f*%k all that rap s#*t it’s all about makin’ the most money.

I feel that Birdman thinks like this because his lyrics are weak, ignorant, and gimmicky and he really has no creative control when it comes to expressing himself lyrically. Most MCs on a major label don’t have creative control and are basically coerced to rappin’ about the most dumbest and ignorant things. You see, MCin’ is an artform and I think that IMO Lil Wayne would disagree with Birdman.

Though I’m not a Lil Weezy fan, but at least he tries to put some effort in his lyrics unlike Birdman. Birdman is just a capitalist and he’s part of the reason why lots of folks think Hip-Hop is dead. Birdman may have riches, but mentally he’s dead.

Another thing, is that these folks debating and compiling "The Hottest MC list" are on some real elitist, dickriding bulls#*t.

Being "The Hottest MC" still boils down to who has the DOPEST LYRICS and who puts on THE BEST STAGE PERFORMANCE ! That’s what MCin’ is all about. F*%k record sales ! As you can see, Soulja Boy sells a lot of records, but his lyrics and songs are lame with dumb-downed lyrics and his stage show is hella weak. These panelists never mention about the MC’s performances. Can these rappers they deem the hottest in the game "Move the Crowd ?" Hardly.

A lot of these MCs in the mainstream are unoriginal when it comes to concepts and flows soundin’ like the next guy or gal. A bunch of clones rappin’ about the same things. Back in the day, the motto was "No Biting Allowed !" This motto still needs to be followed in order for rap music to stay alive, relevant, and creative. There needs to be diversity in song concepts by these MCs on the radio and music videos need to be more diverse visually as well. Even the characters of these MCs need to be diverse, meaning that there’s too many MCs posin’ hard, acting like they’re gangstas, crimianls, drug dealers, and thugs. And when it comes to the female MCs they’re only portrayed as sexpots, former strippers, golddiggers, video vixens, soft-porn stars, and ride-or-die bonnie and clyde type broads.

Where are the blue collar worker MCs ? How ’bout the grown man and father MCs ? Where’s the grown woman and mother MCs ? Where are the college student and college graduate MCs ? Where are the teacher MCs ? Where are the intelligent, philosophical thinking MCs ? I’ll tell you where they are..they are in the underground Hip-Hop movement. These types of MCs do exist, but the mainstream ignores them. Some of these types of MCs I’ve mentioned even make more money than those on a major label and consistently sell out shows where most mainstream MCs with huge marketing budgets can’t even pack a venue, let alone rock a show and they’re more original in style and more creative with their concepts and are more lyrically superior when compared to "The Hottest MCs" list.

I also disagree with Jay-Z bein’ number 1, because despite bein’ a shrewd business man, his lyrics are overrated and his stage show is subpar compared to MCs like KRS-One & Buckshot, Common, MURS, Lyrics Born, Dead Prez, Termanology, and Zion I to name a few. Even Brother Ali is a doper MC IMO than Jay-Z. Maybe one day, these panelists will get it right, but I’m not goin’ to hold my breath. In closing, I just want to let everyone know to be a more educated consumer when it comes to purchasing the music of our favorite MCs and be willing to be open-minded in our music selection. Hip-Hop lives !
