Lil’ Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., appeared in Arizona Superior Court yesterday (May 6) to face drug and weapons charges from his January 22 arrest in Arizona.

Carter entered a not guilty plea to possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia

The charges stem from an incident earlier in the year when Border Patrol stopped the rapper’s tour bus on Interstate 8 near Dateland, Arizona. A search of the vehicle uncovered 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and a .40 caliber pistol, which was registered to the rapper in the state of Florida. $22,000 in cash was also confiscated.

Carter was arrested with two others and released on $10,000 bail.

He is due back in court on May 19.
