Lauryn Hill contributes to Surf’s Up Soundtrack
Multiple Grammy winner Lauryn Hill has contributed a new song to the upcoming soundtrack of the animated film Surf’s Up. She performs the tune "Lose Myself" on the CD, which will be released by Columbia/Sony on June 5th. Other artists contributing new songs to the soundtrack include rock acts 311, Sugar Ray, Ken Andrews, Nine Black Alps and Big Nose.
Hill earned five Grammy Awards with her multi-platinum debut solo set The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill and then, after a court battle over the album’s songwriting and personal issues, withdrew from the public eye. Public disputes with her former Fugees group mates Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean, led the band to dissolve.
However, the Fugees reunited
last year for a series of concerts and a European tour and plan to release a
new CD, their first since 1996’s The Score. The group released the single "Take
It Easy" last year.
