Kanye Scores Third No. 1 Album With "808s & Heartbreak"

Kanye West has landed his third straight No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 chart this week as his "808s & Heartbreak" debuts at the top spot.

Despite achieving the lowest first week sales since his first album Kanye managed to top the chart with the Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam set selling 450,000 copies in the United states.

Kanye’s last two albums both debuted on top of the Billboard 200 charts upon their release. 2007’s "Graduation" sold 957,000 copies in its first week on sale while "Late Registration" moved 860,000 units in 2005. His 2004 debut "College Dropout" sold 441,000 copies, narrowly missing out on the top spot.

Other notable movements on the chart this week include Beyonce’s "I Am... Sasha Fierce" (Music World/Columbia) which dropped from 1 to 4 after selling a further 257,000 copies and Ludacris’ "Theater of the Mind" (DTP/Def Jam), which entered the charts at No. 5 with 213,000 units sold.

E-40’s "Ball Street Journal" also made a debut on the charts this week landing at No. 42 with 30,700 copies sold.
