Kanye West & Alexis Phifer Break Off Engagement
Rumors about Kanye West and fiancee Alexis Phifer splitting up are saddly true. Alexis Phifer, Kanye West’s fiancée of 18 months, has confirmed that the couple’s engagement is off.
"It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends," Phifer reportedly told People.com. "I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met."
Sources close to Kanye had previously said that he would tie the knot with Phifer to honor his late mother Donda’s wish that they make their relationship official.
The website People.com reported that Phifer, a designer, was spotted on the red carpet without her engagement ring at an "Evenings in Vogue" event on Thursday night in New York, where her clothing line, Ghita, was featured.
The couple, who have dated on and off since 2002, got engaged over a lobster and pasta dinner during a vacation on the island of Capri in August 2006.
Kanye is currently on the road for his Glow in the Dark Tour.

Yeah, finding this out is definitely a heartbreaker but in order for marriage to work, both have to feel the same way about each other. One may be ready while the other may have cold feet. Marriage is a serious issue and should not be taken part if "one" is hesitant about making that step. It could also be a beautiful thing between two people who really love one another but, on the other hand, it shouldn’t be rushed. Kanye nd Alexis may not tie the knots right now but if they should decide to reunite and marry someday then it may be for real. Neither of us can really tell if they’re marry in the future so I guess we shall see when that moment comes. I’m sure their love for each other is still mutual and I wish them both success in whatever they plan to do.
