| Kanye West Tweets Apology to Taylor Swift |
Kanye West, who famously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, apologized to the country star on Twitter today.
In a series of tweets, Kanye talked about the confrontation and how it played out in the media and in his personal life. “Why was it made into such a race issue. Taylor loves rap music… I love country music,” he said.
“I wish I could talk to every hater face to face and change there a opinion of me one conversation at a time,” West tweeted. “I want to win there hearts back so I can continue to bring my take on culture to the masses with a clean opinion.”
“It starts with this…” he ended, “I’m sorry Taylor.”
Presumably West was directing his comments at Taylor Swift, and not “Twilight” actor Taylor Lautner, who was also on stage at the time when West took over the microphone.
West and Swift both have new albums due out soon.
