John Legend
Album : Get Lifted
Release Date : Dec 28, 2004
Label : Sony
Customer Review :
"Just like "The College Dropout" was a breakthrough for rap, "Get Lifted" does the same thing for R&B. John Legend follows in the footsteps of Alicia Keys by bringing us rich and soothing music for the soul. I listened to the entire album on AOL music yesterday then ran out and bought it today. Got the last one at the store I went to.
This album is refreshing. It reminds me of a time when talented artists such as John Legend were actually appreciated and sought after by the music industry. Unfortunately, today, the same formulaic and uninventive stuff gets played and hyped on the radio over and over again. After listening to "Get Lifted" that’s how I feel, lifted. I feel as if my mind and senses have been taken to another level.
If you’re ready for a change and for some great music, then definitely pick this album up. Hopefully, when the Grammy awards are given out in 2006, John Legend will have many nominations. Because he certainly deserves it for this record."
