Jay-Z To Headline Glastonbury (UK) Festival
According to the Glastonbury (UK) Festival organizer, Jay-Z will be among the numerous acts performing this June.
While the lineup is usually dominated by white rock artists, the festival’s organizer, Michael Eavis, recently revealed to the BBC that he plans to “break with tradition this time and put on something totally different” by getting Jay-Z to headline the three day festival.
“He will appeal to
the young people and under-25s for sure, so that’s a big pull for them,”
Eavis continued. “It’s not like the traditional one we do, like
Radiohead, Coldplay and Muse and Oasis.” This year’s festival, which
is expected to bring 175,000 ticket holders to an 800-acre farm, runs June 27
through 29. Jay-Z will perform on Saturday, June 28. Tickets go on sale on April
6.
