Jay-Z will be releasing a new album titled The Hits Collection Vol. 1 on June 29th. Right now there is only speculation on what tracks will appear on it and whether it will contain any new material. The album will be released the same day as Diddy’s and Games new albums. A new website has been created for this album, but has little information on it so far.

When you think about it for a second, it’s kind of bizarre that such a big name in music as Jay-Z had never released a greatest-hits compilation. To be fair, there are several U.K./Japan-only records of this kind, but The Hits Collection, Vol. 1 represents his first proper best-of in the States. And it comes a year after Jay topped the singles chart on the Billboard for the first time in his career with 2009’s "Empire State of Mind." That track and several other The Blueprint 3 hits found their way onto this collection along with jams like "99 Problems," "Where I’m From" and many others.
