As previously reported, Jay-Z new album will debut #1 in the charts. American Gangster is projected to sell between 425-450,000 in its first week sales.
Hitsdailydouble.com reports that Jay-Z American Gangster is on track to debut at No 1 on the Billboard 200 selling between 425,000 to 450,000 units and officially tying with Elvis Presley for second place among artists with the most No. 1 albums.
Jay-Z last project Kingdom Come was released last year and also came out in November moving 680,000 copies in its first week for a total of 2 millions records sold.
Jigga spent last week hosting his own radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio and promoting his new album with a five-city tour that was sold out in 60 seconds.
Jay-Z dedicated his Sunday night concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York to Kanye West mother, who died over the weekend and asked for a moment of silence near the end of the show to pay respect to Donda West.
"Let’s get serious for a minute," Jay told the crowd during his encore performance. "This show is dedicated to Kanye West who had a death in the family. We got you, Kanye. Stay strong," he added before launching into his final song of the night: Roc Boys.
