Even Hip Hop Stars are feeling the Recession

Jay-Z and 50 Cent are still among the most successful rappers in business right now. But, even at the top they’re feeling the recession.

Jay-Z’s Hotel project in Manhattan has been cancelled due to the credit crunch and now GM has just announced that are cancelling the Pontiac G8, the 50 Cent sponsored sport truck which was supposed to hit streets everywhere in America at the beginning of 2010.

Fifty first introduced the G8 truck at the New York International Auto Show in March 2008. Pontiac spokesman Jim Hopson explained that this cancellation is part of the GM restructuration plan regarding the recession and added that others G8 vehicles would still be produced.

50 Cent has also seen MTV canceled his reality show 50 Cent : The Money and The Power after only 6 episodes.

Fifty is only living the life of every entrepreneur : you got to lose to win some. And you know he won a lot already.

His fourth studio album entitled Before I Self Destruct is now scheduled for february 3rd.

The latest single off the album is Get It In produced by the one and only Dr. Dre. 50 Cent is also featured on Eminem’s latest single Crack A Bottle along with the Good Doctor.
