Infamous Mobb biography :
Infamous Mobb followed the precedent established by fellow Queensbridge rappers Nas and Mobb Deep. The latter introduced the trio — comprised of Ty Nitty, Gambino, and Godfather, Pt. 3 — on Hell on Earth (1996) and Murda Muzik (1998) ; however, Infamous Mobb didn’t release their debut album until 2002, after guest appearances on DJ Muggs’ second Soul Assassins album and Nas’ QB Finest collection.
Infamous Mobb first appeared on Mobb Deep’s album Hell On Earth. They also appeared on Murda Muzik and Infamy, as well as many mixtapes. The group also appeared on Nas’s QB Finest compliation album as well as DJ Muggs’s second Soul Assassins album. Their debut, Special Edition, was not released until 2002 ; it features extensive production by The Alchemist. The album was released on Infamous Mobb’s own IM3 label and distributed by Landspeed Records.
In 2004, the group released Blood Thicker Than Water, Vol. 1. This album was also released on the IM3 label, but this time through Monopolee Records. A second version of the album was released which included a bonus DVD. The DVD includes Infamous Mobb music videos as well as in-depth interviews with some of the group’s Queensbridge affiliates.
Known for their
streetwise reality raps and close affiliation with Mobb Deep, The Queensbridge
trio have been making moves for a while now, tantalizing listeners with raw
crime tales laid over hard-knocking beats. Composed of Twin Gambino, Ty Nitty,
and G.O.D.-Father Pt. 3, they first appeared on the 1996 classic "Hell
On Earth," followed by "Murda Muzik" and compilations like "QB’s
Finest" and Muggs’ "Soul Assassins." In 2002 they released their
debut album "Special Edition," solidifying their rep as true-blue
QB thug storytellers. On one hand there is the built in loyal fan-base who crave
the grimy street tales made popular by Queensbridge emcees. But on the other
hand, there is the constant confusion among fans and media alike. Is Infamous
Mobb and Mobb Deep one and the same ? After introducing themselves to the music
industry on Special Edition (2002), and memorable appearances on Mobb Deeps
classic albums, Hell On Earth (1996) and Murda Muzik (1998), Infamous Mobb hopes
the distinction is made with their latest album, Blood Thicker Than Water Vol.
1 (2004), which was released on IM3/Monopolee Records. Friends since childhood,
Infamous Mobb members G.O.D. Father, Ty Nitty and Twin Gambino all grew up on
Queensbridge’s 41st side.
