Hip Hop Albums Sales : Waiting for Jay-Z and Nas

Hip Hop Charts - Week ending 10/28/07

Any Hip Hop Artist on the top 10 this week since Kanye West moves to the #16 spot with 43,300 copies sold of his Graduation album. After seven weeks on the Charts, Kanye is half way to his second platinum mark with 1,577,500 units sold.

Down at number 18 is Soulja Boy, whose debut album Souljaboytellem.com sold another 34,700 copies this week. The album total is now at 234,900.

Hurricane Chris debuts at a disappointing #24 spot with his 51/50 Ratchet album and pushed 26,200 copies.

Keyshia Cole is certified gold with album Just Like You and moves 32,200 copies this week with a five-week total of 504,700.

Philly’s own Jill Scott drops eight spots to #23 since with her new album Words and Sounds : Vol. 3 that sold 26,800 discs this week. After five weeks, the album has sold a nice total of 308,400 units.

Elsewhere on the charts :
Timbaland climbs two spots to #25 with Shock Value. The album sold 25,000 copies this week for a 30-week sales total of 785,700.

Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas is still standing at #29 with her album The Dutchess aiming a third platinum certification with a total of 2,851,000 discs sold.

The G-Unit General 50 Cent is at #30 this week with Curtis moving another 23,800 copies. After seven weeks the total stands at 1,049,300 units.

J. Holiday is at #34 with his album Back of My Lac and sold 199,100 discs after 4 weeks on the charts. Angie Stone landed at #46 this week with her fourth album, The Art of Love & War. The album sold 16,300 copies for a two-week total of 61,000.

Little Brother debuted at the #89 spot selling 9,500 units of their album Get Back while Houston rapper Trae debuts at #104 with 7500 fans copping Trae’s Life.
