G-Unit and The Game sheduled for June 24
Remember the first episode of the Soundscan Battle between Fifty and Kanye? Round No. 2 is scheduled for June 24 when the new G-Unit album and The Game new (last) album will be droppin on the same day.
According to 50 Cent, there’s no competition (ok he already said that with Kanye) and all these Hip Hop Albums (G-Unit, The Game, Nelly with Brass Knuckles among others) are all scheduled on June 24 because it’s the deadline for distributing albums internationally.
"There are certain time periods," 50 explained. "[That’s] the last date you can send [albums] to Germany, France and Switzerland. That’s the date we have, that’s why Nelly is on that date, Game’s on that date. They all will initially try to make it around that time to get all of those [albums] shipped everywhere and promoted everywhere. But, to be honest they need to concentrate on making the right material because if you don’t have the right record you could rush it out and just really flop."
The Game has already dubbed his third and last effort LAX a classic album, claiming that his final set will address issues that other artists in hip-hop are too afraid to talk about on record.
Here is what Fifty had to offer to MTV News last week when asked about ex G-Unit member The Game new album:
"I’mma wait a little, then I’m just gonna push his album back. I don’t think there’s anyone that would legitimately look at him like it’s a competition, him versus G-Unit. It just doesn’t make sense. I make money every time he releases an album. He signed a five-album deal. He’s only on album three."
Well, Nas album N*gger has just been pushed back to July 1st so this battle might as well happen and we’ll see if G-Unit is going to outsell The Game anticipated new album.
What’s your guess? What album are you going to cop on June 24?
