Rapper Foxy Brown has signed with Koch Records after releasing her previous albums on Def Jam Records and Roc-A-Fella Records.

"Def Jam was really an artist situation with Foxy under Jay-Z," says Chaz Williams, Foxy’s manager and CEO of Black Hand Entertainment. "She’s moved onto monetarily greener pastures by signing her record label, Black Rose Entertainment to Koch. She is the first artist and she wants to connect with her dancehall reggae roots. Foxy’s looking to sign up-and-coming Caribbean and U.S. artists. But she’s definitely the first and biggest artist on her label."

Under the terms of the Koch deal, Black Hand Entertainment will issue three albums per year, the first of which will be Brown’s "Brooklyn’s Don Diva" on Dec. 4. Another new album, "Black Roses," will arrive next year.

"She’d been at Def Jam for 13 years," says Williams. "It was time to move on to a situation where she was had more control. She’s an artist that’s already established her brand, sold millions of records and has a loyal fan base. She’s got the fame — now she needs to get the fortune."

Foxy Brown originally caught up attention through her featurings on LL Cool J and Jay-Z tracks. Then she formed with Nas, AZ and Nature the supergroup The Firm.
