Fergie Announces Solo Release Date
After watching “London Bridge” leapfrog from the Billboard Hot 100 pit to its current number one spot on the singles chart, Fergie has announced the release date of her first solo album.
Fergie, who inked
a deal with fellow band mate Will.I.Am’s eponymous label, will release The Dutchess
on September 19, adding to next month’s due date roster from artists including
Sleepy Brown, Beyonce and Mos
Def. The album—which features collaborations with Ludacris
and Rita Marley-will also be the first LP dropped by the Will.I.Am Music Group
label under A&M/Interscope. But Fergie, who used the Peas’ frontman to helm
production on a number of the album’s prominent tracks, entrusted the album’s
lead single to Polow the Don, producer of Pussycat Doll’s, “Buttons.”
