Fabolous shot and arrested
Rapper Fabolous was arrested for being in possession of unlicensed handguns after being shot outside of fellow rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs’ New York restaurant.
Fabolous
is listed as in stable condition following a shooting early Tuesday in a Manhattan
parking garage that also left the rapper under arrest.
Fabolous, 28 and whose real name is John Jackson, received a gunshot wound to
the thigh following an incident where he and three other men were approached
by a male with a gun. The group opened fire on the man, and then fled the scene
in a vehicle. They caught the attention of police after they ran a red light
at a traffic stop, according to police reports.
At the stop, police officers discovered two loaded guns in the vehicle which
were unlicensed, and all four were arrested. The men, who were not identified
by police, are now awaiting charges. Fabolous was taken to a local hospital
to be treated for gunshot, and police are still searching for the shooter.
The rapper is a Brooklyn native and has saw success on the charts with singles like "Breathe" and "Can’t Deny It." His albums’ songs range in topic from street life to love, and he was recently part of the VH1 Hip Hop Honors.
