Eminem studio’s owner Killer Sentenced To Life

Terrence T. Moore was sentenced to life in prison without parole after being found guilty of shooting the owner of a Detroit recording studio previously used by Eminem.

This past November, Terrence T. Moore was convicted of first-degree murder in connection to the January 2004 killing of Studio 8 owner Amjed A. Abdallah. According to authorities, Moore, a rapper also known as 13, TT and Mad Dog, shot Abdallah and stole a $25,000 mixing board because he felt he was being charged too much for studio time.

Moore then tried to sell the board for $5,000 at a pawn shop the next day. The store owner told police he didn’t purchase the board because the serial number was missing. He also told authorities that Moore often visited the shop to sell random articles and described the rapper’s tattoo and forehead. Police had been to Moore’s house on several occasions to inquire about the shooting.

Weeks before the killing, the studio’s building was listed on eBay’s auction site by real estate firm Grubb & Ellis. The asking price began at $215,000. Abdallah had reportedly decided to sell the studio because he was spending more time in New York. Eminem began recording his The Slim Shady LP at Studio 8 in 1997. The album was later released in 1999 and went on to sell 5 million copies, won multiple awards and launched Em’s career.
