Eminem returns to albums top spot

Eminem has returned to the top of the UK album charts, after being dislodged from the number one slot last week by Kylie Minogue.

The rapper’s album Recovery climbed a place to claim his third week in pole position, after Minogue’s Aphrodite slipped to number two.

The week’s highest new entry came from Eliza Doolittle’s self-titled album, while Bombay Bicycle Club also debuted in the top 10 at number eight with Flaws.

Elsewhere, both Lady GaGa and Mumford & Sons climbed up the chart, with GaGa’s The Fame Monster landing at number five from seventh place last week. The indie-folk band’s debut Sigh No More also travelled three places to six.

Plan B’s The Defamation Of Strickland Banks dropped one place to number four, while The Element Of Freedom by Alicia Keys also decended to seven from five, and Scissor Sisters’s third album Night Work from fourth place to nine, after three weeks on the chart.

Finally, Oasis’s singles compilation Time Flies...1994-2009 ended up at number ten, from eight last week.
