Eminem protegé Obie Trice Shot in Detroit

DETROIT Rapper Obie Trice is out of a suburban Detroit hospital after being shot while driving.

Obie Trice was shot early Saturday while driving on a city highway, police said. Obie Trice, a Detroit native was on the Lodge Freeway at about 1:10 a.m. when his vehicle was shot at by someone in another car, said Michigan State Police Sgt. Mario Gonzales. The rapper and his girlfriend managed to keep driving and exited the freeway near the suburb of Southfield; where his girlfriend managed to hail a police officer. The Detroit rap artist was taken to Providence Hospital in Southfield, and is listed in good condition, Gonzales said. His girlfriend, who was not identified, was not injured. Shots were fired at the back window of Trice’s car from another vehicle, ABC News reports. The shooting is now being investigated by state police, there are currently no suspects.
