Eminem Signs Publishing Deal With Universal
Eminem has signed an exclusive worldwide administration deal with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG).
The deal, which is a joint venture between UMPG and Eminem’s own publishing company, Shady Music Publishing, will include new songs from the rapper as well as tracks from his greatest hits collection "Curtain Call," "Eminem Presents: The Re-Up" and songs he co-wrote such as tracks from 50 Cent’s "The Massacre" and Akon’s hit single "Smack That," which Eminem also featured on.
The new venture will also allow Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg to bring other artists into the deal.
"Eminem is
an icon for millions of music fans around the globe," said UMPG chairman
and CEO David Renzer in a statement. "His success as a writer and producer
for both his own records as well as other artists continues to grow. We are
honoured that Eminem and his representatives have chosen Universal Music Publishing
Group as their new home."
