Eminem Named Best Rapper Alive

Eminem has been voted the Best Rapper Alive in a new poll by Vibe magazine. He was named number one by readers in an online survey. Eminem beat Jay-Z to the title in the final round of voting with 69 per cent but he doesn’t think any single rapper deserves the title.

“It’s obviously an honour to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive. I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best, though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah, I’ll accept !”

You have to also think about what you consider a good or GREAT Rap artist. If you only think of songs and artists you hear on the radio, or you only think about an artist that only speaks about things you personally relate to, then its just a popularity contest. Thats probably why some are so upset at Eminem being voted No. 1. But I would love for them to cancel American Idol, or Dancing with the stars for a season, and get all the top name rappers out there in a FREE STYLE, Head to Head Battle Show. Dont give them any money, just the opportunity to put their Mouth on the microphone. Everyone wants to say their the best. O.K. fine....Jay, Nas, Em, Jada, 50, STEP UP. Heck lets go old school. Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Rhakim, show us you still got it. And bring out some new hungry talent. Who cares who was voted the best in the world on a Saturday........On Monday their will be someone who could take it away......Only because he took Sunday off.

Eminem has shown, weather you want to admit it or not, that if your whole mind, heart, and soul is dedicated to one thing. If that is all you think about and dedicate your whole being to, then you can be the best. Some say that he gets more attention because he’s white, or because his lyrics are insane at times. I say that, even though I wouldn’t let my kids listen to most of his songs, Eminem has broken down barriers, and was instrumental to bringing Rap to another level. I myself have alot of repect for his dedication, and also alot of sympathy for what he had to experience what he has in order to write the rhymes he does.

As far as Pure lyricists in the history of the Rap Game there are some you just have to recognize . Eminem is right when he says that you can’t really choose ONE. It would be more fair to give the top five. In no particular order........Rhakim, Biggie, Tupac, Slick Rick(Best story teller PERIOD), and Eminem.

such a terrible decision, i really do wonder who would vote Eminem as the best rapper alive, there r so many mc’s better than him lyrically be it narrative or descriptive. Dont get me wrong Em is a good rapper & deserves accolade especially for his 1st 2 albums the marshall marthers album had wicked lyrics & flows with exceptional production from Dre the master. Real Slim Shady, Who Knew & a couple of other tracks on the album showed his trickery with the use of words, but thats all it showed, there were no social commentaries and/or great messages on tha album, same goes for most of his albums, this poll lets me know that it was kids voting, i can bet u that 50 cent would ve made top 3, i vent seen the list but from the No 1 rapper i can say i dont want 2 c it. Rappers like Cube, Nas, Rakim should ve all been ahead of eminem, even em himself knows this but he has 2 be modest by accepting the award. Really hate all this crazy polls, they only show that 2days kids know nothin bout the game, they only care bout who’s hot & bangin club hits with very little lyrical ability.

They didn’t have to confirm this ya know... If you have any sense of judgement about today’s rap music (which includes the lyrics, the story behind the song, and many other aspects) and youre not racist or ignorant then you can clearly see that he outshines every mainstream rapper today. He has no problem hanging with underground artists either seeing as how he has been in competitions with them and proved his dominance. Ofcourse theres always someone better, right ?

In no paticular order.. Biggie, 2pac, Eminem, Nas, Dre, Eazy-E, Jay Z, Snoop, Immortal Technique, and Cube are the greatest to ever hold the mic.

Ofcourse this is only an opinion. Hats off to Em, he deserves it.
