EDO.G & Da Bulldogs
Album : Life of a Kid In The Ghetto : Demos And
Rarities
Release Date : February 26th, 2008
review :
Despite generating some top 10 Billboard rap hits in the 90’s including the
undisputed #1 smash "I Got To Have It", Ed O.G’s major label albums
have been out of print on CD for several years now, even while he hustled on
with numerous well-received indie projects such as "The Truth Hurts",
"My Own Worst Enemy" and the recent "Acting". While unfortunately
the rights to the original debut album "Life of a Kid In The Ghetto"
remain in limbo, a special double-disc companion release has been assembled
for 2008, with help from longtime producer Joe Mansfield of Vinyl Reanimators.
This "Demos and Rarities" set contains 28 tracks including alternate
versions of famous tunes, songs that didn’t make the album (and never appeared
elsewhere) and other gems from the original recording sessions laid down over
15 years ago, including never before heard collabos with KRS-ONE and Scientifik.
Even the cover art features an authentic photo taken from the fade-haircut era
that was previously never shown publicly.
