The hit series that made poetry cool is back on DVD. Taped live at The Supper Club in New York, each installment is hosted by popular rap artist Mos Def, and spotlights original material performed by contemporary urban poets and well-known music/comedy artists, including Smokey Robinson, Jill Scott and Salt. Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry : Season Three arrives exclusively on DVD on July 19.

Critical Acclaim :
Winner of the prestigious Peabody Award in 2003, Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry “delivers a different sort of television with sublime, rhyming attitude” (Detroit Free Press). A “treat and a triumph” (The New York Daily News), Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry is an “exuberant, daring, fresh series” that “breaks poetry out of the little boxes it is so often put in” (The New York Times). “With its drama, its driving rhythms and its grab-you-by-the-lapels intensity, the Def Poetry is a natural for TV” (The Cincinnati Enquirer).
