Dame Dash & Rachel Roy parting ways

No money but still more problems for Damon Dash. The Rocafella & Rocawear co-founder has received this week divorce papers from his wife & fashion designer Rachel Roy. They’ve been married for four years.

Dash and Roy, who put her own name on a women’s fashion line, got hitched in Mexico in January 2005. They met when Roy was working at Rocawear and have two daughters.

Dame also previously helped his wife to ink a major business deal for he colthing line:"The company is a $4 billion dollar company—I guess we have the potential to make that kind of money. I just never been with a company that big," said Dame back in august 2008.

Dash’s fortune once was around $50 million following the sale of Rocafella Records and Rocawear following his business breakup with Jay-Z. He has now has crumbled under massive debt, bad business deals and various suits.

His former partner and lawyer Combat Jack recently spoke his mind on his blog saying that "The media is clowning dude for supposedly being broke, for going through a divorce with his wife," Jack wrote. "I’ve seen him humiliate and disgrace so many people, throw so many souls under the proverbial bus that even then, I knew that the sh*t he’s publicly suffering through now was coming, inevitable, ony a matter of time".

But who knows what Dame can do, he helped build one of the most successful label and made millions in the past. The guy can always make a comeback. For now he has invested on Jim Jones as the both of them have known his other from their childhood in Harlem.

He debuted last year as a theater producer with the Hip-Hop Monologues, an Off-Broadway account of the life of his latest protégé. and already said to NY Magazine "[...]when I come back, I’m gonna change the economy as well". We’ll keep you posted.
