DMX Extradited To Phoenix
DMX was extradited to Phoenix on Friday (December 19) where he will remain in police custody over the Christmas period facing charges of animal cruelty.
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was taken into custody on December 9 after he failed to appear at a scheduled court date on December 5 over charges of animal cruelty, drug possession and identity theft.
The animal cruelty charges originate from the May 9 raid on Simmons’ Arizona home in which police seized 12 pit bulls and discovered the remains of 3 others. Police also found quantities of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Simmons is being held on a $120,000 bond.
In related news, DMX is set to release his two disc Hip-Hop/Gospel album Walk With Me Now (You’ll Fly With Me Later) in January 2009.
