DJ Shadow
Album :
The Outsider
Release Date : Sept 19th, 2006

Review :
News from the DJ Shadow Camp emerged this week and it seems that he will include a wide range of artists on his upcoming album, The Outsider. Electing to spotlight the Bay Area scene on this album, Keak da Sneak, E-40, Droop-E, and The Federation are all set to appear. In addition, David Banner, Phonte from Little Brother, Q-Tip and Sergio Pizzorno & Christopher Karloff from the Brit-rock outfit Kasabian, will all contribute to this album.

A marked departure from past projects, DJ Shadow has traditionally produced sample heavy, instrumental albums. Shadow, born Josh Davis, claims that some songs will contain no samples whatsoever, and the extensive list of vocal artists suggests it will not be very instrumental either. Oddly enough, despite DJ Shadow calling it completed, and the release of a tracklist, no formal release date has been set.

1. Outsider Intro
2. This Time (I’m Gonna Try It My Way)
3. 3 Freaks-Feat. Keak Da Sneak & Turf Talk
